Donna Mcgill Walker

Elizabethtown - Donna McGill Walker, 67, passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2008, while surrounded by family. In 1998 Donna was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was an inspiration to many by her determination to fight this disease. Born in Salona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Elvina Kessinger McGill. She was the beloved wife of Dale L. Walker, Sr. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 16, 2008. Donna became an LPN in 1968 and worked in nursing until 1987. She along with her husband and son started a company, Walker Sales and Distribution, where she remained until December 2007. She had a passion for gardening. Donna's garden was a haven of tranquility for family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren and traveling. In addition to her husband, she will be deeply missed by her son, Dale L. Jr., husband of Marsha Walker, two daughters, Lori A. Stoner, Sharon, wife of Eli Smith, all of Elizabethtown, and five grandchildren, Crystal Stoner, Brittany Walker, Justin Walker, Madison Smith, and McKenna Smith. One sister Margaret Tyson of Vero Beach, FL and one brother Robert McGill and his wife Lois of Mill Hall. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by a brother Russell and two sisters Betty Jane Haskett and Anna Mae Vuocolo. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA at 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until the time of service. A graveside service will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall, PA from 6:00-8:00 PM.
