Donna L. Lucas

YORK – Donna L. Lucas, 62, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 4, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the daughter of Carole L. (Hyams) Lucas of York and the late John F.C. “Pop” Lucas and is also survived by a son, Erik T. Lucas; granddaughter, Alexis R. Lucas; two brothers, John R. Lucas and Thomas J. Lucas and girlfriend Amanda; nephews, John M. and wife Laura Lucas, Ryan T. and wife Sara Lucas, Kyle B. Lucas and companion Brooke, Brady C. and wife Julia Lucas, Shaun J. Lucas and girlfriend Dani; and a great niece, Elyra “Ely” Lucas.

Donna was born on December 30, 1961 in York, and was a 1979 graduate of William Penn Senior High School where she was a member of the swim team and color guard in the marching band. Donna had also been a cheerleader with York Boy’s Club. She had worked at Bowen McGlaughlin (BMY), now BAE; Westside Steakhouse; Goodway Trucking; BPO Elks Lodge 213; and since the passing of her father, was a caregiver and best friend to her mother Carole. She was a lifelong member at Faith United Church of Christ.

Donna was full of life and always in charge at family events and celebrations. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. Donna enjoyed spending time at the beach in Point Lookout, NY. Those that know Donna know that she loved to shop. If you have Amazon stock, you may want to sell because it will probably drop! Donna will be missed by all of the people she touched.

A special Thank You to the nurses and doctors on the 4th Floor of York Hospital. Also, her cousin Ina Womble and longtime friend Sue Hager for everything they did for Donna.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Faith UCC, 509 Pacific Ave., York with her pastor, The Rev. Dr. Ron Oelrich officiating. Refreshments will be served following the Service at the Church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
