Donna Jean (Kint) Shive

SEVEN VALLEYS- Donna Jean (Kint) Shive, 66, died on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Gary L. Shive. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on January 19, 1955 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Jake” and Vada (Messinger) Kint. Donna was a homemaker. Mrs. Shive attended West York Church of the Brethren where she enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed bird watching and her cats. Donna enjoyed world travel with her late uncle Richard Myers and aunt Doris Myers of East Berlin. She was always planning her next trip. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her husband, Gary, Donna is survived by two sons, Matt Shive of Baltimore, MD and Mark Shive and his wife, Laura of York; five grandchildren, Grayson, Gavin, Bella, Livie and Karcher; brother, C. Jay Kint and his wife, Andrea of Hanover; and sister, Cindy Leturno of Stewartstown. She was preceded in death by her still born son, Baby Shive in 1972.
