Donald T. Tyson

Donald T. Tyson, 82, of Exeter, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Born in Wilkes-Barre, on December 24, 1930, he was a son of the late William and Mabel (Cunningham) Tyson. Donald proudly served his county in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a self employed painter and also at Interfaith Company. He enjoyed going to the Oak Grove Club, Goose Island, for over 56 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Bill Tyson, sister, Mary June Smith and stepson, Gary Olowiany. Left to honor his memory are sons, Donald Tyson, Wilkes-Barre, John Tyson and wife, Kerry, Fl and Robert Tyson, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Nancy Margavage and husband, Bruce, Larksville, Donna Tyson, Exeter, Mary Bowers and husband, Paul, Harrisburg and Cheryl Fassl and husband, Bob, Poconos; 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and stepsons, Jerry and Steve Olowiany. The service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. from Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev John Green, from Paxton Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, will be officiating. Family and friends may visit from 6-7:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
