Donald L. Swope

YORK—Donald L. Swope, 77, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at his residence in Manchester Township. He was the husband of Casa D. (Clark) Swope to whom he was married for 60 years. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 2-4PM, Saturday February 5, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, Pa 17408. Born March 8, 1944 in Williamsport, Maryland, he was a son of the late Barry O. and Hazel E. (Guessford) Swope. He was employed as a welder with Voith Hydro Inc., for 35 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Hawk’s Gunning Club, Wago Club and also Hayshire United Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, Donnie is also survived by two daughters, Kimberly D. Heidlebaugh of York and Brenda S. Swope-Hahn of York; two brothers, Barry O. Swope Jr., of Windsor and Ronald L. Swope of Smithsburg, MD; one sister, Twannia J. Kettoman of Charleston, SC and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
