Donald L. Attig

RED LION--Donald L. Attig, 80, passed away Sunday July 3, 2022 at Rest Haven-York. He was the husband of Glenda E. (Gohn) Attig to whom he was married for 60 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Larry Parlett. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Attig’s Tribute Service will be webcast on his obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com. Burial will be held in Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Dallastown American Legion Honor Guard. Born August 11, 1941 in Delroy, he was a son of the late Glenn N. and Anna Mae (Fox) Attig. He was employed as an electrical engineer with Allis Chalmers-Valve Division for 30 plus years and later worked with A/C Service and Repair Inc. An amateur HAM Radio operator, he contacted and talked with other radio operators in every country throughout the world. He was also an avid computer enthusiast, a member of the Viking Athletic Assoc., Shiloh American Legion-Post 791 and the High Flyers Club. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, was a member of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling. In addition to his wife, Mr. Attig is also survived by two sons, Steve D. Attig and wife, Pamela and Jeff S. Attig and wife, Lisa; one daughter, Angela D. Mayhew and fiancé, Robert; seven grandchildren, Justin K. Olewiler, Ashlee M. Hyde, Sean W. Mayhew, Kyrsten A. Marchini, Cari M. Krivacsy, Tyler L. Attig and Joshua D. Mayhew; four great grandchildren, Braiden Olewiler, Haileigh Olewiler, Jackson Krivacsy and Sullivan Hyde; one sister, Dorcus L. Ruppert and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward L. and Dennis L. Attig and one sister, Moreen L. Attig.
