Donald K. Weigle

YORK – Donald K. Weigle, 91, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anne E. (Young) Weigle. Born December 25, 1929 in York a son of the late William E. and Hilda G. (Fahs) Weigle, he was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Weigle was a civil engineer owning and operating Weigle Engineering for the majority of his career. He later retired in 1995 from C.S. Davidson, Inc. Mr. Weigle was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, American Society of Engineers and PA Society of Engineers. Along with his wife, they were Charter Members and an Elder at Church of the Open Door. Mr. Weigle is survived by two sons, John K. and wife Deborah Weigle of Elizabeth, NJ and David C. and wife Kristen Weigle of Rodanthe, NC; two daughters, Katherine P. and husband Michael Dowling of York and Rebecca A. Platts of Dover; five grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel and Jesse Platts, Abby and Sarah Dowling; and a great granddaughter, Madilyn Platts. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Weigle. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the Cemetery at 10:45 AM.
