Donald G. Allen

BROGUE- Donald G. Allen, 73, of Brogue died Thursday, July 4, 2013 with family by his side. Born 1940 in High Point, NC, he was a son of the late Silas Enos Allen Sr. and Annie (Johnson) Allen. Donald married Marla Kay (Krebs) in 1970. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1964. During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS Antietam. After his time in the Navy, Donald was an over the road truck driver for more than 45 years. He was well known and respected by many in the industry and became the 'Old Man' who mentored many young drivers. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Donald's legacy lives on with the family he leaves behind. His wife Marla Kay; son David (Becky) Allen; daughter Sonia (Eric) Ammann; granddaughters Emily and Haley Allen; brother Randall (Jackie) Allen and many nieces and nephews. The family will have a private burial and memorial at a later date.
