Donald E. Weaver

GRANVILLE TOWNSHIP- Donald E. Weaver, 76, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath, NY. He is the husband of Susan L. (Raker) Weaver. The couple was married on December 27, 1987 and had 19 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service will be held after the viewing at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, February 12th at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. Frances Montgomery, officiating. Burial will follow the service in Bradford County Memorial Park with military honors given by American Legion Post #42 Honor Guard. Don was born May 25, 1930 in Towanda, PA. He is the son of the late Ulysses M. and Carrie A. (Mayo) Weaver. Don attended Towanda High School to the 9th grade and later earned his G.E.D. He was a US Air Force veteran. Don was a farmer, retired from Ingersoll Rand in Athens, PA and went on to deliver eggs for Wolf's Poultry Farm in East Smithfield before retiring for good in May of 2004. He is a member of the West Burlington United Methodist Church and The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron #42 in Towanda. He was also a member of the Bradford County Old Timers, the French Azilum Vintage Tractor Show, the Twin Tiers Antique Machinery Association, the Loyalsock Valley Early Days, and the Nittany Antique Machinery, Inc. Don loved his family very much. They include his wife Susan, his sons: Donald W. (Ginger) Weaver of San Antonio, TX, Norman D. Weaver of Granville Township, PA, George M. (Mary L. Steele) Weaver of Towanda, PA and Manford U. (Robin) Weaver of Waverly, NY, his daughters: Carol Ann (Harry) Marbaker of Milan, PA, his step son Kenneth (Renee) Hesselbach of Hampshire, IL, and his step daughters: Deborah (Chris) Patchin of Williamsport, PA and Krista (David) Pruyne of Ulster, PA, fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ivan (Clara) Weaver of Towanda, his sister Marion Heaps of Norristown, PA, his brother-in-law Ira Kropp of Towanda, PA and his sisters-in-law: Jean Weaver and Marge Weaver, both of Towanda, PA and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jean (Kropp) Weaver, who passed away in January of 1966, his son David W. Weaver, who passed away in August of 1980, his infant daughter Nancy Weaver, who passed away in 1953, his brother Lawrence Weaver, who passed away in 1995 and Harold Weaver, who passed away in 2005, and his sister Janice Carter, who passed away in 1980.
