Donald E. Seitz

York—Donald E. Seitz, 83, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Joyce D. (Wolfe) Seitz to whom he was married for 62 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave, York with his pastor, the Rev. Ron Oelrich officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Saturday at the church. Burial will be private in Cross Roads Cemetery. Born February 23, 1931 in Laurel, he was a son of the late Samuel R. and Ethel M. (Wolf) Seitz. He was employed as a plasterer with JV McIntire for several years until his retirement in 1996. A United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a very active member of Faith United Church of Christ and a member of the former Bethany United Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved spending time with his family, was an avid Penn State Football fan, a member of the Victory Athletic Assoc and a former Boy Scout Leader. In addition to his wife, Mr. Seitz is also survived by three children, Shawn A. Seitz and wife, Edye of York, Dr. Todd E. Seitz and Jane of York and Jennifer R. Gozdan and husband, Stephen of Philadelphia; five granddaughters, Leah, Hannah, Maggie, Nicole and Katherine; one brother, Albert Seitz and wife, Rachel of Brogue; one sister, Mary Hartzell of Red Lion and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Charles and Harry.
