Donald E. Leik

Donald E. Leik, 81, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Manor Care North. He was the husband of the late Linda (Heilman) Leik. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A viewing will be held from 12-1:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 30, 1936 in York, a son of the late Allen E. and Mary (Ferrence) Leik, he was a 1954 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Donald retired from the US Navy Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg. In retirement, Donald worked at Weis Markets on Roosevelt Avenue. He was a life member of Christ Lutheran Church where he sang in the Church Choir and was part of their Keen Agers group. Mr. Leik also served as Treasuer for the local chapter of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed traveling, photography and reading. Donald was a founding member and former newsletter editor of the US Amateur Ballroom Dance Assoc., York Chapter. He was a US Army veteran and had also served in the PA Army National Guard. Mr. Leik is survived by two brothers-in-law, Fred E. and wife Joann Heilman and Ronald L. and wife Venetia Mann both of Dover; and an aunt, Lois Mae Ferrence of Gettysburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin E. Leik. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George St., York, PA 17401.
