Donald E. Hunter

FELTON- Donald E. Hunter, 76, of Chanceford Township, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at York Hospital, when Jesus took him home. He was the husband of Betty J. (Harwood) Hunter. The couple celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary on June 9th. A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Chanceford Alliance Church, 2142 Furnace Rd in Felton. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery with a flag folding provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Hunter was born in York on November 1, 1935, a son of the late Ray and Dot (Bishop) Hunter. He retired in 1996 from GTE where he was a Cable Splicer. Mr. Hunter was a member of Chanceford Alliance Church in Felton and served in the US Marine Corps. during the Korean War. Mr. Hunter leaves a son, Rod Hunter and his wife Callene of Red Lion; a daughter, Donna Schott and her husband John of Brogue; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Geesey of York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chanceford Alliance Church, 2142 Furnace Rd., Felton, PA 17322.
