Donald E. Gluck, Sr.

YORK- Donald E. Gluck, Sr., 86, of West Manchester Township, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services North in York. He was the husband of the late Irene (Wilkinson) Gluck. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Stinger Cemetery in Fort Loudon, PA. Pastor Ron Oelrich will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Gluck was born in Lemasters, PA on February 18, 1925, a son of the late Paul E. and Maggie V. (Lininger) Gluck. He retired as a Clerk for the York Post Office. Mr. Gluck was a long time member of Bethany United Church of Christ and later became a member of Faith United Church of Christ in York. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He served in the US Army 3rd Division Infantry in WWII. He was a Prisoner of War and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Mr. Gluck leaves a son, Donald E. Gluck, Jr. and his wife Susan of York; a daughter, Karen M. Stottlemyer and her husband Harry of York; three grandchildren, Matthew Gluck, Christine Frey and her husband Christopher, and Jason Stottlemyer and his wife Melissa; and three great grandchildren, Aaden Stottlemyer, Aalek Stottlemyer, and Jackson Gluck.
