Donald L. Dietz

York—Donald L. Dietz Sr., 81, passed away Sunday, March 02, 2025 at Kingston Court Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of the late Frances R. (Stoutzenberger) Dietz to whom he was married for 54 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born June 15, 1943 in York, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Hester P. (Smith) Dietz.

He was employed as a machine operator for 30 years with Caterpillar Inc., until his retirement in 1996.

A United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also a member of the Dallastown American Legion. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, tinkering around the house and following the weather. When he wasn’t busy tinkering, he enjoyed watching baseball and the Price is Right.

Mr. Dietz is survived by one daughter, three sons, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother, 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and 10 siblings.
