Donald Charles Clifford

YORK- Donald Charles Clifford, 80, of Springfield Township, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jeanne M. (O’Brien) Clifford. The couple celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on May 22, 2018. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 47 West Philadelphia Street in York, with a visitation from 1:30-2 p.m. His pastor, The Reverend Susan Dheedene will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Clifford was born in Hartford, CT on August 29, 1938, the son of the late Earle and Agnes (Kundra) Clifford. He worked as a purchasing agent for his family’s electrical contracting business and owned a landscaping business, while residing in Connecticut. He also worked in transportation for a school district. Mr. Clifford was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in York and had been an over 30-year member of West Avon Congregational Church in Connecticut. His interests included: boating, hiking, traveling to the west coast, fishing and nature. He helped build his family home in Connecticut and was a meticulous carpenter. Mr. Clifford leaves a son, Andrew V. Clifford of Richmond, VA; a daughter, Melanie J. Webb and her husband Eric of York; and three grandchildren, Graham, Josiah, and Laurel Webb.
