Dover—Donald C. Simpson, Jr., 64, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at his residence in Dover. He was the husband of Carol A. (Gottshall) Simpson to whom he was married for 43 years. A celebration of life service will be held private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held 1 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2009 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home Inc., 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, is in charge of arrangements. Born July 13, 1945 in Harrisburg, he was a son of late Donald C. Simpson Sr., and Henrietta (Thran) Simpson. He graduated from Penn Harris High School and later proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. For 33 ½ years he was employed with the Harrisburg Dairies as a milk deliveryman until his retirement in 2001. He loved being around his family, watching sports on TV, and for several years played baseball for Harrisburg Dairies. In addition to his wife, Mr. Simpson is survived by two daughters, Tina Sheetz of W. Hanover and Jennifer Simpson of Dover, three granddaughters, Ashley Simpson of Dover and Nicole and Madison Sheetz of W. Hanover, one great grandson, Cayden Demmitt of Dover, two sisters, Joanne Krout of Mechanicsburg and Fran Jovanelly of California, one aunt, Nancy Simpson of Middletown, four brothers-in-law, William and Kenneth Gottshall of Carlisle and Terry and Rick Gottshall of Mechanicsburg, 5 nephews, 8 nieces, 9 great nephews, 3 great nieces and 1 great-great niece. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, Pa 17042.
