Williamsport - Don B. Coleman, 75 of Cincinnati, OH and a former resident of Williamsport died Friday, August 3, 2007. He was born October 6, 1931 in Williamsport the son of the late Ferd & Freida (Baumgartner) Coleman. He was married to the former Rebecca M. Klein on Sept. 12, 1968 they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary together. Mr. Coleman had a full and interesting life and career. While still in high school in Williamsport he joined the Navy reserves in November 1948. After high school graduation he was called to active duty in January of 1950. He was a class A journalist aboard two aircraft carriers, the Saipan and the Franklin D. Roosevelt. After his enlistment he served several years in the Navy Reserves. He also served during the Korean Conflict. He began his civilian career in advertising and bulk mail and became vice president retiring in Arizona in1981 and returned to Cincinnati in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, writing and model shipbuilding. Don was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Peggy Waldeck of Los Angeles, CA and two sisters Sylvia Dick of Hummelstown, PA and Diane Simpson of Lauderdale by the Sea, FL. also surviving are many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 9:30 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street with Msgr. Stephen D. McGough officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home from 9:00 - 9:30. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery with military honors.
