YORK-Domenick Donald Ortuglio, 86 of York Township, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at York Hospital. He was born in Greensburg, PA in 1938, the son of the late Alphonso M. and Rose (Vesco) Ortuglio.
Upon his graduation from Greensburg High School in 1956, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with his high school buddies and spent his time at Camp Lejeune before leaving the service with a rank of Sergeant in 1961.
He met his wife of 59 years, Eileen Dramel, shortly thereafter, completed his accounting degree at Penn State University, got married, and moved to York in 1965.
He worked at several local accounting firms before joining Dallco Industries and retired as the Chief Financial Officer.
Don was an avid Steelers fan, Porsche enthusiast (he owned several throughout his lifetime), and enjoyed trips to the Jersey shore and other far-flung locations with the Dallco Industries “Fun Bunch.”
He adored his family, especially his daughter Karin (Jack) of Mechanicsville, MD and son Kevin (Nikki) of Lutherville, MD, along with his grandchildren Helen, Taft, Grayson, and Addison. They would spend hours playing dominoes, cards, and shooting pool. His sense of humor and matter of fact way of looking at life kept everyone either laughing or rolling their eyes.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 E. Main Street in Dallastown, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. The service will be webcast live at HeffnerCare.com and can be viewed by searching Domenick’s obituary. His pastor, The Reverend Mark E. Weiss will be officiating at the service. Burial of the cremated remains will be the same day at 2 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.
In the true spirit of the USMC, the family would appreciate donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in lieu of flowers. www.T2T.org
