Dolores R. (Daugherty) Krout

YORK – Dolores R. (Daugherty) Krout, 92, passed away March 1, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Dale E. Krout. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Redemption International Ministries (Formerly known as First Assembly), 2270 N. Susquehanna Trail in York with Pastor Danny Haas officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. in York is in charge of arrangements. Born August 2, 1929 in York, she was the daughter of the late Elwood F.L. and Nellie (Bywaters) Daugherty. After graduating high school, Mrs. Krout worked at Standard Register for many years before she retired. She was also an active member of the National Secretaries and held office as the President for a period of time. Mrs. Krout was a member at First Assembly of God Church for many years, where she was very active. In her free time, Mrs. Krout enjoyed reading, knitting, stamping, beading, family trips to the beach, an active member of the Monday night knitters club, and the “Cool Kids”. Mrs. Krout is survived by two sons, Jon L. Krout and his husband Steve Harrington, and Ronald D. Krout; two daughters, Lonna S. Cole and her husband Steve, and Barbara A. Spahr; and three granddaughters, Shayna L. King, Sydney J. Cole, and Jahnessa Y. Cole. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Krout is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ada S. Daugherty; and her two canine companions, Max, and Max II.
