York – Dolores ‘Sis’ Ellen (Hill) Young, 93, went to be with the Lord at the home of her daughter on Monday, March 22, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late David Stanley Young, to whom she was married for 54 years. Born on May 2, 1927 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late George Hill and Sarah (Mattern) Hill Molz. She was a past member of Riverside First United Methodist Church and Easton Union Bible Church, both located in New Jersey. Sis worked at a variety of jobs, including starting her own business, Young Enterprise Select, at the age of 72. She enjoyed spending her time with family, traveling, family reunions, gardening, and shopping. She was a great cook and had a green thumb, always enjoying being surrounded by flowers. She was an animal lover, making sure to visit the animals on her daughter’s farm, or having them bringing them brought into the house for her to see. Sis was a generous and humble soul. For well over 50 years she sponsored numerous children through World Vision and contributed to many other charities. For a recent birthday she asked family and friends to donate money for a well to be build in a third world country instead of getting her birthday presents. She had an avid interest in politics, working at elections in both York and Riverside, New Jersey until well into her late 80s. Sis is survived by one son, Keith Young and wife Dorothy of Branchburg, New Jersey; two daughters Linda Jo Young, RN, BSN of Pensacola, Florida, and Dr. Pamela McCarter-Tate and husband, John Tate of York and McClure, PA, and two honorary daughters Thu Di Vo “Trudy” and Anh Thi Phung Vo “Anhie” of York and Hanover, PA; 16 grandchildren, Garrett Young and wife Kathleen, Kierstin Young, Meredith Young, Keith McCarter and wife Cristi, Amy McCarter Yohn and husband Scot, Lanh Moscato and companion Cynthia, Andrew McCarter and wife Anh “ Cun”, Anne Moscato and fiancé, Nick, Nicholas Moscato, Nathaniel McCarter, Khuyen Nguyen (Moscato), Madelyn Moscato, Luoc Nguyen (Moscato), My Dahn “May” Moscato and companion Isaiah, Kyrcho Moscato, and Matthew Moscato; 3 step grandchildren Josh Tate and wife Brittany, Heather Wertz and husband Drew, and John Tate and wife, Nichole; 13 great grandchildren; a surviving brother Earl Hill of Florida; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, her very special caregivers Alethea Orr and Tobi Parrish, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, a great grandson Gage of McClure, a sister Mildred Bard of New Jersey, and brother George Hill of Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Easton Bible Church, 2407 Fostertown Road, Hainesport, NJ 08036.
