Dixie P. (Engler) Orcutt

EAST SMITHFIELD- Dixie P. (Engler) Orcutt, 73, of East Smithfield, PA passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was the loving wife of Donald S. Orcutt of East Smithfield. The couple married May 18, 1956 and had 52 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 7:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Dixie's life will be held at 8:00 PM Friday evening with Rev. Richard Noggle of the First United Methodist Church of Troy officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the East Smithfield Union Cemetery. Dixie was born on March 14, 1936 in Sonestown, Lycoming County, PA, daughter of the late Oran Engler, Sr. and Gladys (Stackhouse) Engler of Williamsport, PA. Dixie worked for the Sayre Lingerie Company in the 1970's. She loved doing crafts, animals, and growing flowers. Dixie is survived by her husband Don and her mother Gladys, her son Richard Orcutt and fianc矓hari Farrell of East Smithfield, PA, her daughter Deborah (David) Canale of Smithboro, NY, her grandchildren; Justin, Jamie, Jenna, and Joshua Orcutt, Kimberly Farrell, Bradley and Andrew Canale, her brothers Oran "Sonny" (Jane) Engler, Jr. of Williamsport, PA, and James (Norma) Engler of Iowa, her sisters; Jean Hoffman of Harrisburg, PA, Mary Jane (Albert) Steinbacher of Jersey Shore, PA, and Judy (Lou) Little of Pittsburgh, PA, along with several nieces and nephews and her faithful companion Chance.
