Dick L. 'Toby' Grove

RED LION- Dick L. “Toby” Grove, 69, died, Monday, August 20, 2012 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Linda L. (Eberly) Grove. The couple celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on December 3rd. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. The Reverend Janet W. Ray will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Mr. Grove was born in York on May 30, 1943, son of the late Velmar “Dick” and Doris (Ferree) Grove. He retired in 2010 as a sales manager for Sandvik, Inc. in New Jersey. Mr. Grove was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Harrisburg Consistory and York County Shriners. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge and was a well known and outstanding baseball player in York County and a member of Susquehanna League Hall of Fame in York County. He enjoyed his beach house in Ocean City, MD, where he enjoyed Flounder fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, wood working in his work shop and was an all around handyman. Mr. Grove leaves two sons, Trent L. Grove and his wife Sandra of West Pittston, Tim L. Grove and his wife Lisa of West Pittston; four grandchildren, Brandon, Alyssa, Trent, Jr., and Adam; and two sisters, Beverly Johnson of North Carolina and Nancie Grove of Media.
