Diane (Hughes) Lamison

YORK – Diane (Hughes) Lamison, 59, passed suddenly on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. James Hospital in Chicago. She was the wife of William W. Lamison, Jr. to whom she was married for 39 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 30, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Tracy A. Conner and Rev. Robert L. Brown officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday and 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Mrs. Lamison was born on July 20, 1952 in New London, Conn. a daughter of the late Alex and Alice (Sudlow) Hughes. She was a former Assoc. Pastor at Eagle Christian Ministries where she was very active with community outreach programs. Diane had also served as a worship leader and counselor. She was a member of White Rose Toast Masters and Harvest Chapel Church. Diane was a very creative person who enjoyed crafts; cooking and entertaining; and most importantly, taking care of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by three sons, Jay and wife Ellie Lamison of Dover and their son, Will; Pete E. and wife Janna Lamison of Medford, Minn. and their children, Abigail, Isaac, and Rachel; Philip T. and wife Kelly Lamison of Dover and their children, Evan, Joah, and Jorja; two daughters, Christie D. and husband Oriali Rivera of York and their daughters, Mikiah and Elise; and Sandy D. Lamison of York; a brother, Scott and wife Mary Hughes of Glenwood, IL; and two sisters, Karen Vandevaarst of Cherry Hill, NJ and Wendy and husband Steve Heise of Chicago Heights, IL. Contributions in memory of Diane may be made to Harvest Chapel Church, 6947 York Rd., Abbottstown, PA 17301.
