RED LION – Diane L. (Deitz) McWilliams, 71, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital.
Born December 5, 1953, in York, she was a daughter of the late Gene D. and Dolores M. (Paules) Deitz. For most of her working life, Diane was a proud nurse at several different hospitals and agencies, spending most of her career at WellSpan where she later retired in 2024 after taking care of the community for over 45 years.
Outside of work, Diane was a prior member of Grace Fellowship Church of Shrewsbury. Her family remembers her full of smiles, laughter, always praising the Lord, and being a kindhearted person. Diane had several hobbies including gardening flowers, water tubing, shopping, dancing, making candles, baking the best Christmas cookies, cooking for her family, being a huge advocate of pro-life, and supporting our President. She loved her family and friends, as well as her dogs Tasha, Bessie, and Jasla.
She is survived by her children, Chad M. McWilliams of Red Lion, Angie N. Eldridge of Red Lion, and Amy J. McWilliams of Dallastown; eleven grandchildren, Tesla, Chad, Kristen, Katelyn, Jasmine, Bernard, Jason, Daniel, Tony Jr., and Christopher; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Lori E. Wilson and her husband Todd; two nieces, Holly M. Wilson, Billie Jo Hawkes and her husband Mike; her former husband Stephen K. McWilliams to whom she was married for over 30 years; her dogs, Tasha and Bessie; and her grand-dogs, Brooklyn and Ava. She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. McWilliams; her brother, Donald G. Deitz; and her beloved dog, Jasla.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at the family’s convenience. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
