Diana F. Graham

YORK- Diana Fryman Graham passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 6:55PM at the age of 78 after battling Frontotemporal and Lewy Body Dementias. Diana was born on October 19, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Corrine “Sally” (Guntle) Fryman Maxel. She grew up in Brookville, Ohio.

Diana’s career at GTE (now Verizon) Corporation moved her around the country from Ohio to Indiana, Pennsylvania, Texas, and finally to South Carolina where she retired. Upon moving to York, PA her second career, before formerly retiring, was with Voith Hydro, in York, PA.

Reading and knitting were her passions; she enjoyed attending Women’s Writers Guild meetings and conferences, the book discussions at Martin Library in York, PA, and volunteering for the York County Literacy Council (now York Literacy Institute), and Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania as well as spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Ouellette (in Fort Lauderdale, FL), daughters Dena (Games) Eberhart (in Lebanon, PA) and Sara (Games) Hunt (in York, PA), and her grandchildren Andrew Eberhart, Jason Eberhart, Savannah Hunt, and Reed Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alzfdn.org) or the York Literacy Institute (https://www.yorkliteracyinstitute.org/donate/).

Services will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.
