YORK - Devin R. Bunn, 25, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the son of Kathy L. (Shoemaker) McClain and Michael J. Bunn and stepson to Lynn Bunn and Ronald McClain all of York. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. John S. Allen officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel. Devin was born June 1, 1984 in York. He was a 2002 graduate of Central York High School and a 2003 graduate of York Technical Institute, L'ecole de Cuisine. He worked as a sous chef and executive chef at Fusion 440, Long Boards @ Fusion 440, Velvet Lounge, Parallel 36, and Market Fare restaurants located in the Portsmouth/Norfolk area of Virginia. In addition to his passion for cooking, Devin enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for his loyalty and love of family and friends, and his thirst and enjoyment for life. Devin is also survived by his sister, Rebecca K. and husband Luke Sauder of York; his brother, Michael J. Bunn, II and fianc裠Laura Gifford of Harrisburg; two step sisters, Mandy McClain of Middletown and Heather Stevens of Pasadena, CA; three stepbrothers, Dustin McClain of Georgetown, MD, Gregory Stevens and fianc裠Amanda Russell of York, and Michael Stevens of Holly Ridge, NC; maternal grandparents, Frances Shoemaker and Jim and Linda McClain all of York; paternal grandparents, Norris and Dottie Bunn of Hardy, VA and Polly and William Almoney of York; nieces, Payton and Audrey Sauder, and Alicia McClain; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his best friend Dirk Shindler and fianc裠Heather Smith. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard K. Shoemaker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Devin Bunn Memorial Fund, c/o Metro Bank, 4350 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112.
