YORK – Denzil I. Marks, 92, formerly of Chambersburg, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Manor Care – Dallastown. He was the husband of Sara V. (Squires) Marks to whom he was married for 61 years. A memorial tribute service will be held in late Spring at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 1140 Edgar Ave., Chambersburg. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg with Masonic services and full military rites. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born July 2, 1920 in Braxton Co, WV a son of the late Albert B. and Eva (Digman) Marks, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Fairmont University and his Master’s Degree from West Virginia University. Mr. Marks has worked for the State of WV and later retired from the Social Security Administration. He had been an active member and financial secretary of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg; Free and Accepted Masons, Late Lodge 63, Bridgeport, WV; Shriners Lodge; and Alpha Psi Omega National Honorary Dramatic Fraternity. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Marks is survived by a daughter, Sally Lloyd-Forbes and husband Robert of York; a son, Robin S. Marks of Bridgeport, WV; six grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Lloyd, Jonathon and Christopher Marks, and Anna and Bobby Forbes; nine great grandchildren, Madison, Camden, Violet, Amanda, Sara, Jackson, Levi, Tyler, and Brayden; a sister, Faye and husband Rev. Thomas Steele of Moundsville, WV; and nieces and nephews.
