YORK – Dennis L. Myers, 85, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. He was the husband of the late Mary (Runyan) Myers. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with The Rev. Jim Polanzke officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born September 13, 1929 in York a son of the late Leonard and Almeda (Dellinger) Myers, he was a 1947 graduate of West York High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Elizabethtown College. Mr. Myers served as the business manager at Country Club of York and York YMCA, from which he retired. He was a member of National Assoc. of Accountants, Dallastown American Legion, West York VFW, Thirteenth Ward, and Christ Lutheran Church of Spry. Dennis enjoyed oil painting, golfing, and was a lifelong photographer. His love of football extended from his high school playing days to rooting on Penn State and hanging out with Baltimore Colts players. He was a US Army veteran of The Korean War. Mr. Myers is survived by a daughter, Rebecca J. and husband John R. Warner of Dover; two sons, Stuart R. and wife Margaret Myers of Tallahassee, FL and Scott D. and wife Marisa Myers of York; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Sondra Chatterton of Dover.
