Dennis L. Fritzinger

ALTOONA, IA- Staff Sgt. Dennis L. Fritzinger, 67, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Lebanon VA Hospital. He was the husband of Darlene (Legler) Fritzinger to whom he was married for almost six years. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on May 30, 1951 in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Curtis and Pearline (Angelmyer) Fritzinger. Dennis was a law enforcement officer in the U.S. Army for 20 years. After retiring from the Army, he worked as a truck driver. Mr. Fritzinger was a member of Altoona United Methodist Church in Altoona, IA. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 396 in Bondurant, IA and the Vietnam Veterans of Des Moines, IA. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and also enjoyed watching TV and riding motorcycles. Along with his wife, Darlene, Dennis is survived by his son, Brian Fritzinger and his wife, Jennifer of Dover; two stepsons, Quentin Mills and his wife, Sheryl and Anthony Hauck and his wife, Trishia; step daughter, Elena Dunblazier; four grandchildren, Jocelyn Fritzinger, Kaylee Polizzotto, Brian Fritzinger, Jr. and Ian Polizzotto; nine step grandchildren; four brothers, Curtis Fritzinger, Jr. of Delaware, Franklin Fritzinger of Palmerton, Leroy “Butch” Fritzinger of Parryville and Franklin Fritzinger, Jr. of Red Lion; sister, Jean Fatzinger of Walnutport; and several nieces and nephews.
