WINDSOR – Dennis L. Deitz, 94, peacefully passed away in his home Friday June 4, 2021. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Rittenhouse) Deitz. Born November 23, 1926 in Delroy, PA, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Hester P. (Smith) Dietz. When he left high school, Mr. Deitz served in the Navy during World War II. Upon returning home, he worked as a Production Manager for York International until he retired in 1982. In his free time, Mr. Deitz enjoyed watching Nascar, Football, and the Orioles. Win or lose, he loved to see the Orioles play. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to Ocean City, Maryland and fishing for flounder. And most importantly, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Deitz is survived by two sons, Dennis L. Deitz Jr., and Ronald E. Deitz and his wife Michele; three daughters, Darlene L. Schardt and her husband George, Nancy Shoff and her husband John, and Beth Deitz; five grandchildren, Daniel, Kevin, Casey, Jodie, and Stephanie; two brothers, Donald Dietz, and Barry Dietz; and four sisters, Doris Miller, Rose Hougentogler, Jean Hostler, and Theda Pick-Roe; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Dietz, James Dietz, Rodger Dietz, and Rodney Dietz; and three sisters, Ruth Hilt, Naomi Stover, and Marcella Dietz. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating will be Pastor Todd Smith. Burial will be at Canadochly Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, prior to the service.
