Dennis G. Knowles

YORK-Dennis G. Knowles, 56, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 12:30-1:30p.m. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Dennis was born in York on May 18, 1956, the son of Ila V. (Grimm) Sherman of York and the late O. Glen Knowles. He attended West York High School. He worked as a truck driver for Miller Motor Freight, Estes, Wells Brothers and many other trucking companies. Dennis was a member of Prince Athletic Club in York, and the National Rifle Association. He was detail oriented, generous, enjoyed food, loved life and enjoyed riding his Harley. Along with his mother, Dennis leaves two brothers, Andrew Grimm and his wife Jackie of York and Bobby Toomey of York; a sister, Joleen Shoff and her husband Harold of York; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
