RED LION- Dennis Albert Allen, 66, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Diane M. (Smith) Allen, who died on September 10, 2016. The couple had been married for 45 years. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Zion United Methodist Cemetery, 1155 Felton Rd., Red Lion with the Reverend Stephany S. Sechrist officiating. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on July 19, 1950 in York, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy (Strayer) Allen. Dennis graduated from York Catholic High School in 1968 and went on to work as a Customer Service Technician for Verizon, formerly GTE. After retiring, he worked part time for Todd Fisher Construction. Mr. Allen was a member of Jane Brown Hunting Camp, Red Lion Ambulance Association, Red Lion Jaycees, volunteered for Felton Fire Company and was a former proprietor of Allen’s Towing. Dennis was a simple man who enjoyed hunting, traveling to the mountains, cooking, gardening, trips to Atlantic City and day trips to the local Red Lion stores. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Mr. Allen is survived by one son, Joseph D. Allen and his wife, Missi of Red Lion; one daughter, Trisha L. Marcules and her husband, David of Red Lion; heart son, Robert Trout and his wife, Michelle of Red Lion; three grandchildren, Sarah Marcules, Calvin Marcules and Kody Allen; two heart granddaughters, Brittney Trout and Courtney Trout; one sister, Carole Bell and her husband, George of Pottstown; five godchildren, Richard Smith, Melinda Smith, Dillion Shafer, Katy S. Smeltzer, and Justin Shaffer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donovan Allen and Keith Allen.
