Deloris M. Sheeley

WEST YORK Deloris M. (Smith) Sheeley, 90, died Saturday morning, September 20, 2008, at ManorCare Health Services - North. She was the wife of Reed L. Sheeley with whom she celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on March 12th. A family funeral service and burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will be private. The Rev. Wesley Mast, chaplain of Heartland Hospice, will officiate. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sheeley was born October 31, 1917, in Cly. She was the daughter of the late William H. Smith and the late Mary Ellen (Fahringer) Hamme-Smith. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed sewing and cooking and had worked at the former York Suit Company and the former Superior Shirt Company in York. She had also been a member of AARP. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sheeley also leaves her son, Ronald Reed Sheeley and wife, Karen of York; her daughter, Donna Rae Sheeley and companion, Walter Boyd of West York; two grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Sheeley and Carly Ann Rickel and husband, Jon-Erik; her sister, Ruth Strausbaugh of York; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester and William Smith, and Orville and Ray Hamme; and two sisters, Pauline Baublitz and Geraldine Smith.
