Delbert E. Beichner

YORK – Delbert E. Beichner, 82, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of Elvira V. (Marcinko) Beichner with whom he would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on January 18, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, York with Rev. Celestine Nwakwuo officiating. Private burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.

Born September 25, 1942 in Strattanville, Clarion Co.; a son of the late Austin A. and Garnett A. (Edmunds) Beichner, he was an electrician at Gladfelter Paper Co. for 22 years until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Beichner enjoyed music his whole life. He was proud to share his musical talents with his family and friends. He played guitar for a number of rock and country bands over the years, including one in which his son joined him. Del was very handy around the house and could often be found finishing home improvement projects well into his 80’s. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Beichner is survived by two sons, Kevin M. and wife Suzanne M. Beichner of Dover and Jeffrey S. and wife Sheila Y. Beichner of Manchester; three grandchildren, Tiffany R. and husband Christopher S. Shoff, Morgan M. Beichner and her significant other Jason R. Lesnak, and Kyle A. Beichner; a great-grandson, Rowan C., a great-grandson to be born soon; and step-great-grandson, Bentley G. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Austin, Joseph, and Edwin Beichner; and three sisters, Esther Gourley, Maxine Miller, and Emogene Slabe.
