YORK - Debra Rose (Dayton) Mountz, 51, of West York was taken home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 1:02 PM at York Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of John Willis Mountz. Debra and John would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2009. In addition to her husband, Debra is survived by; a daughter, Monica Kay Mountz and fianc裬 Josh Ray Reeser of York; a son, Michael John Mountz of York; parents, Granville Jackson "Jack" and Nancy Faye (Wildasin) Dayton of York; two sisters, Diane Marie Dayton of Mountville, PA, and Donna Lynn (Dayton) Macklin and husband, Tom Scott of Airville, PA; nephew, Gentry Jackson Dayton and his wife, Eva (Weiss)of Brooklyn Heights, NY; and mother in law, Margaret Mae (Althouse) Mountz. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Richard and Rosa (Rohrbaugh) Wildasin; paternal grandparents, Harrison and Bunia (Arrowood) Dayton; and father-in-law, Robert Henry Mountz, Sr. Debra was a 1976 graduate of West York Area Senior High School, where she played varsity field hockey, sang in chorus, and starred in the class play, Oklahoma!. She attended StillMeadow Church of the Nazarene and formerly attended Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Rathton Road, where she sang in the choir, taught children's Sunday school classes and clubs. Debra was employed as an Activities Assistant for over 17 years at Lutheran Social Services on Sprenkle Drive in York. She was formally employed by Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York and West York Area School District. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at StillMeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 StillMeadow Lane, York with her pastor, the Rev. Bayse "Bud" H. Reedy officiating. Viewings will be held 7-9:00 PM Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, and 1-2:00 PM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA, 17403.
