RED LION Dean W. Warner, 88, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Betty A. (Theophel) Warner to whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 30, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Windsor Cemetery with Rev. Jack Maisch officiating. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45PM. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born May 10, 1922 in Red Lion a son of the late James S. and Mamie (Ness) Warner, he had been a truck driver for Associated Wholesalers and retired in 1984 after working most of his life for several area contractors as a carpenter and finish carpenter. Mr. Warner was a life member of Laurel Fire Co. and Windsor Fish and Game, was a member of AARP, and Red Lion American Legion Post 543. He was a past member of both Windsor Lions Club and Red Lion Area School Board. Mr. Warner was a US Navy veteran of WWII, where he spent three years on sea duty. In addition to his wife, Mr. Warner is survived by a son, Greg and wife Sue Warner of Windsor; a granddaughter, Alissa and husband Joseph Jordan; a great granddaughter, Stella Jordan; a brother, James Warner of Felton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Herbst. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Community Services, Inc., 15 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356 or to ForSight Vision (formerly York County Blind Center) 1380 Spahn Ave., York, PA 17403.
