Dean R. Ness

RED LION—Dean R. Ness, 74, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nancy M. (Anderson) Ness to whom he was married for 50 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30AM Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Viewings will be held from 6-8PM Tuesday and from 9:30-10:30AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born Oct 2, 1946 in Felton, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Esther E. (Waltemeyer) Ness. He was employed with General Dynamics where he worked for 45 years until his retirement in April 2012. Dean was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and going to his cabin in the mountains of Perry County. He was a member of the National Rifle Assoc., National Wild Turkey Federation, Izaak Walton League-York Chapter #67 and Winterstown Fire Company. Mr. Ness is survived by one grandson, Joseph Dean Ness of Thomasville; one brother, Donald Ness and wife, Roann of Red Lion; four sisters, Doris Deisinger of York, Patsy Leiphart of Windsor, Betty Keiser and husband, Wayne of Windsor and Cindy Lewis of York and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, James D. Ness and two brothers, Richard and Robert Ness.
