Dean R. Hildebrand

YORK- Dean 'Pete' R. Hildebrand, 87, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born October 4, 1926, in Dallastown, Dean was the son of the late John F. and Mamie V. (Oberdorff) Hildebrand and husband of the recently deceased, Ruth Marie (Stotlemyer) Hildebrand, to whom he was married 61 years. Surviving immediate family are his two nieces, Pamela Stilton and Salinda Heisler. Mr. Hildebrand proudly served our country in the US Navy during World War II. He then went on to have a successful 20-year career as a bank teller at York Bank & Trust, until retiring in 1987. Mr. Hildebrand was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, where he served as an usher, youth advisor, and on the church council and other church committees. Dean was also a member of the Red Lion F & AM #649, Tall Cedars of Lebanon #35, the Harrisburg Consistory, the Zembo Shrine, the Dallastown American Legion Post #605, and the Dallastown Golden Age Club. He volunteered at York Hospital and Sprenkle Village. Services will be private at the request of the family.
