Dean G. Westhafer

Craley—Dean G. Westhafer, 86, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence in Lower Windsor Twp. Born April 27, 1934 in Windsor, he was a son of the late Leroy and Mildred M. (Burtner) Westhafer. Mr. Westhafer is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly M. (Spangler) Westhafer; daughter, Rose Harrison and husband Woodrow of Red Lion; son, Dean Westhafer and wife, Kristi of Red Lion; three granddaughters, six great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Murphy of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a sister, Greta Shimmel. Dean proudly served his country in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1962. He was employed with Johnson Controls as an assembler for 30 plus years until his retirement in 1999. Prior to working at Johnson Controls, he drove truck for Fishel’s Bakery. A member of Springvale United Methodist Church in Red Lion, he also enjoyed fishing, working on the farm, playing cards and spending time with his family. Dean was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be 11AM, Tuesday September 15, 2020 at Springvale United Methodist Church, 265 Circle Drive, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be Pastors Woodrow Harrison, Bill Jones and Larry Parlett of Springvale United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, Tuesday at the church. Burial will be private. Military Honors will be provided at the church by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
