Levittown—Dean E. Kinkel, 89, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at Chandler Hall in Newtown. He was the husband of Betty (Day) Kinkel to whom he was married for 54 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Monday, April 7, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with the Rev. Larry A. McConnell officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Guard. Born December 1, 1924 in Dallastown, he was the son of the late H. Raymond and Celia S. (Keeny) Kinkel. He was employed with Motorola for 37 years as a contract administrator until his retirement in 1989. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons-Harry A. Houseman Lodge No. 717, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32° Lehigh Consistory and the Langhorne Rod and Gun Club. He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church in York and Levittown. Mr. Kinkel is survived by one daughter, Karen J. Morgan and husband, William of Langhorne. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan E. Kinkel, one sister, Helen Gilbert and one brother, Carroll E. Kinkel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall, Hancock Hospice, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
