Dean E. Gross

YORK- Dean E. Gross, 75, of West Manchester Township, passed away, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Annamae Joyce (Smith) Gross. The couple celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on September 20, 2016. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at noon on February 4, 2017 at Grace Fellowship, 1405 Seven Valleys Rd. in York New Salem, with a visitation from 10am-noon. Pastor Michael Anthony and Pastor Larry Katz will be officiating at the service. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gross was born in Dover on June 20, 1941, the son of the late Lester M. and Sarah K. (Eyster) Gross. In 1972 Dean, his brother Ray and his late wife Mary Lou, along with his nephew, the late Ray Dentler formed Transply, Inc. in York. Mr. Gross was a member of Grace Fellowship in York New Salem. He was a 1959 graduate of Dover High School. He was a member of VW Club, Studebaker Club, and enjoyed going on numerous Glidden Tours. He enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, and showing his antique cars. Mr. Gross leaves four sisters, Dorothy Westerhold and twin sister, N. Alverta Mitzel, Erma Dentler, and Rosara Harlacher all of Dover; two brothers, Mearl Gross of Dover and Ray Gross, of York, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Gross and a sister, Anna Crone.
