Dawn Y. Shenberger

Interlochen, MI—Dawn Y. (Eckenrode) Shenberger, 80, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her residence in Interlochen, MI. She was the wife of Donald H. Shenberger to whom she was married for 46 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born April 20, 1937 in York, she was a daughter of the late George R.C. and Ardella R. (Kraft) Eckenrode. She was employed with Wolfgang Candy Company as a candy maker until her retirement. A member of the York County History Center and AARP, she also collected Melody in Motion and Longaberger Baskets. She was a former member of John Timon Riley and the Cambria County Historical Societies. Mrs. Shenberger is also survived by two daughters, Debra Macksey and husband James and Wanda Fuller and husband Keith; 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Eckenrode and Patricia Jassenoff. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, Pa 17406.
