Dawn L. (Durant) Carr

WELLSBURG, NY- Dawn L. (Durant) Carr, 73, of Chemung, NY, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was the loving wife of Rev. James O. Carr of Chemung, NY. The couple married on April 21, 1956 and had 54 happy years together. Dawn was born on July 28, 1936 in Ogdensburg, NY, daughter of the late Ross and Verna (MacClean) Durant. She was a member of the Northern- Central New York Conference of the United Methodist Church and was very active in the United Methodist Women. Dawn was a homemaker, but moreover was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dawn is survived by her husband Jim, her children: Cynthia (Greg) Misiewicz of Lafayette, NY, Russell J. (Sherry) Carr of Tully, NY, and Rodger (Jeannette) Carr of Watertown, NY, her grandchildren; Zackery Misiewicz and Rachel Carr, her brother Gerald (Patricia) Durant of The Villages, FL, her sister Faye Pospiech of Fairport, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joan Durant. Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:00-3:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, 140 Front St, Wellsburg, NY. The memorial service to honor Dawn's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday July 1st at the church with Pastor Daniel Burgess officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of Dawn's family. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
