Dawn I. Grove

RED LION – Dawn I. Grove entered into the arms of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on March 22, 2017 in the comfort of her home at the age of 79. She was the wife of the late William L. Grove. Born on May 14, 1937 in York, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Evelyn (Ziegler) Mellon. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Greg Thomas officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Zion U.M. Cemetery. Dawn was a 1955 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and retired from the York County Conservation District. Another of her favorite jobs was as a library aide at Winterstown Elementary. She was a member of York Quilters Guild; was an active member of Grace Fellowship York Church and previously attended the York Gospel Center. Dawn is survived by two children, Tricia Donat of Red Lion; William A. Grove and his wife Michele of Felton; four grandsons, Seth and Joshua Donat, Mitchell and Marshall Grove; a sister, Joyce Deardorff of Mechanicsburg; uncles, Richard and Allen Ziegler; and other extended relatives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Mellon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Grace Fellowship York, 1405 Seven Valleys Rd., York, PA 17408. She was a Woman of Christian Faith, dedicated to studying her Bible and sharing the compassionate love of Jesus with her family, friends and strangers. She enjoyed quilting and reading. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to Caring Hospice Services and her caregivers for the compassionate care that Dawn and the family received during her illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
