David R. Kerns

YORK - David R. Kerns, 52, passed away on Thursday April 15, 2021 at his residence. A graveside tribute will be held at Greenmount Cemetery 721 Carlisle Ave. York 17404 on Tuesday April 20, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gregory Wahlberg officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc. 1551 Kenneth Rd. York is in charge of arrangements. Born in Columbus, NE, on May 12, 1968, David was the son of Britt M. (Lundin) and the late Dr. Robert L. Kerns. David was tenderly known as one of God’s special needs children. He graduated Lincoln Intermediate Unit in 1989. David attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years with his mother. He loved his trains, reading, playing VHS, cassette tapes, and vinyl records, studying his Bible verses, and spending time with his family. He also loved going to the Strasburg Railroad to see the trains. David was a resident at Jessica & Friends Community. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Britt; brother Thomas Kerns of York; sister Anne Harnish of Strasburg; nephews Aaron Kerns and Adam Harnish; and nieces, Emily Kerns, Anna Kerns and Georgia Harnish.
