YORK- David P. Lohss, 67, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Karen I. (Cramer) Lohss, to whom he was married 45 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at City View Community Church, 1655 Roosevelt Ave., York, with Pastor Steve Kurtz officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to Noon, prior to the service. Burial will be private in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Born March 9, 1950 in York, David was the son of the late David P. and Beatrice Ann (Black) Lohss. He was a graduate of Central York High School, Class of 1968. David then went on to graduate in the Class of 1972 from Theil College in Greenville, PA. He worked in retail management for many years, most recently at Lifeway Christian Bookstore until he retired in 2015. Mr. Lohss was a member of City View Community Church where he served as an elder for many years and also enjoyed sharing Nursery duty, as he loved caring for the infants and children. However, the job David most valued was being a grandfather. His grandkids were the light of his life and they will tell you he was The Best Pappy Ever. In addition to his beloved wife Karen, Mr. Lohss is survived by a son, Kevin Lohss and his wife Melissa of York; a daughter, Krista Davis and her husband Jon of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Adam, Abby, Emma, and Caleb, and a sister, Brenda Ross of Easley, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to City View Community Church.
