David O. Silk

YORK- David O. Silk, 73, died on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Manor Care North. He was the husband of Debra A. (Heistand) Silk. The couple wed on September 28, 1987. A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Certified Celebrant Sam Piper officiating and full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on May 8, 1948 in York, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary (Plank) Silk. David was an Operator 1 at the Waste Water Treatment Plant for the City of York until his retirement on July 1, 2016. Mr. Silk served our country for two years in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, music and was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799 for 42 years. As a child, he won the Young Columbus in Switzerland. Along with his wife, Debra, David is survived by his son, David O. Silk, Jr.; stepson, Shawn Renoll of York; two grandchildren, Emily Renoll and Sean Martin; great grandson, Colt Martin; brother, Carl Jacobs; sister, Dorothy Silk-Dettinger; several nieces and nephews; and daughter in law, Heather Renoll of Red Lion.
