David M. Little

YORK- David M. Little, 78, died on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Sally A. (Trimmer) Little. The couple planned to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 8th. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on October 6, 1935 in West York, he was a son of the late Lester and Maggie (Bentzel) Little. David was a 1953 graduate of West York High School. After serving his country, he attended and graduated from Shippensburg University. Mr. Little was a teacher for 30 years at Northeastern School District until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Little served our country for three years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. David was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the York County Veterans Honor Guard, Shiloh American Legion Post #791, White Rose Lodge #706, Tall Cedars and was a life member of the West York V.F.W. Post #8951. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time on the computer and spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his wife, Sally, Mr. Little is survived by two sons, Brian Little and his wife, Charity of Falls Church, VA and Eric Little and his wife, Shilla of York; three grandchildren, Kennedy, Sydney and Drake; one brother, William E. Little of York; and one niece, Laura Weyant of York.
