RED LION – David Lee Spencer, 75, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Jane T. (Cross) Spencer to whom he was married for 53 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday April 20, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, The Rev. Dr. John E. Morgan officiating. A visitation will be held from 2-3:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Born November 22, 1936 in Grove City, PA a son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Nicholas) Spencer, he was a 1953 graduate of Grove City High School, a graduate of Grove City College, and earned his MBA at Michigan State University. Mr. Spencer began his career with Cooper-Bessemer Corp., later worked for Miles Laboratories, and retired in 1996 as financial controller with Rhone-Poulenc, Inc. in Madison, WI. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of York and was a deacon and ordained Elder with the Presbyterian Church (USA.) Mr. Spencer cherished spending time with his family and was an avid supporter of his grandsons many sports teams. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Spencer is survived by a daughter, Sharon A. and husband Randy McCreary of York; a son, Brian A. Spencer of Dallastown; and two grandsons, Spencer S. and Stone C.
