David Lee Johnson

ROTE - David Lee Johnson, 74, of Mill Hall passed away, Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence. Born January 1, 1948 a son of the late Glenn and Estella (Bartholomew) Johnson. David was married on January 23, 1971 to the former Cheryl V. VanHaelst. They celebrated 51 years of marriage. He worked for Hammermill and retired after 27 years and then worked for the PA Wine & Spirits in Bellefonte and State College where he retired in 2013. He enjoyed fixing and building things, stocks and bonds and watching TV especially CNBC. Surviving are his loving wife, a son Shaffer Scott Johnson of Mill Hall and two granddaughters, Kayla (Alex) Swanson and Brianna Johnson both of Lock Haven a step-granddaughter Kimberly Powers of Mill Hall and an Aunt Lola Sweitzer of Lock Haven. Two sisters Jessie (Charles) Collier of Wilkinson, Indiana and Glenda Simcox of Lock Haven. Also surviving are 2 former daughter-in-law’s, Denise Johnson and Stephanie Reeder and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by a step-father, Glen Probst and a brother-in-law John Simcox. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Frank VanHaelst officiating.
